The Florida Department of Health in Lake County and the Lake County School Board are preparing to offer two immunization events for school-age children that will include COVID-19 vaccinations for those ages 12 and up.
The immunization clinics will be held:
- Wednesday, May 19, from 4-7 p.m. at Gray Middle School, located at 205 E. Magnolia St. in Groveland; and
- Saturday, May 22, from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the former Sears store at Lake Square Mall, located at 10401 U.S. Hwy. 441 in Leesburg.
Parents and children will need to wear a mask and practice social distancing at this event. The following required vaccinations will be provided:
- Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap);
- Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis (DTaP);
- Hepatitis B (Hep B);
- Polio;
- Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR);
- Varicella (Chickenpox); and
- COVID-19 (ages 12 and up).
There is no charge for immunization for children up to 18 years of age provided they are enrolled in elementary, middle or high school. Parents or guardians must bring a copy of the child’s immunization records.
