Second dose of COVID-19 vaccine available for Lake Schools employees and students

Lake County Schools, in partnership with the Florida Department of Health in Lake, is preparing to offer the second dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to all employees, students and community residents ages 16 and older at high schools across the county.

Those who received first doses at the high schools April 5-8 are invited to return April 26-29 with their vaccination cards to receive the second dose.

People seeking a first dose may attend as well, but the district has not scheduled any additional vaccination dates. So, second doses after April may need to be scheduled elsewhere.

Parents or legal guardians must accompany minor students ages 16 and 17 seeking a vaccine or provide a note giving another adult permission to accompany them.

The distribution schedule is as follows:

  • Eustis High School: Monday, April 26, from 3-6 p.m. (drive-through event)
  • South Lake High School: Tuesday, April 27 from 3-6 p.m. (drive-through event)
  • Leesburg High School: Tuesday, April 27 from 3-6 p.m. (in school gymnasium)
  • Lake Minneola High School: Wednesday, April 28 from 2-6 p.m. (in school gymnasium)
  • Tavares High School: Thursday, April 29 from 3-6 p.m. (in school gymnasium)
