Leesburg government offices to close for Christmas and New Year’s holidays

All offices and facilities of the City of Leesburg will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 24 and Friday, Dec. 25 for the Christmas holidays. Departments will reopen on Monday, Dec. 28. Offices will also be closed on Friday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day, reopening on Jan. 4.

The Solid Waste Division’s residential curbside collection service will not operate on these dates. Residential solid waste will move from Thursday, Dec. 24 to Monday, Dec. 28 and from Friday, Dec. 25 to Tuesday, Dec. 29. Residential recycling normally collected on Friday, Jan. 1 will be picked up on Wednesday, Dec. 30. There will be no change to dumpster service for any holiday.

The Leesburg Public Library will close on Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 7 p.m. and re-open on Saturday, Dec. 26 with normal operating hours. For New Year’s, the Library will close at 5 p.m. on Dec. 31 and re-open on Saturday, Jan. 2 with regular hours.
