Okahumpka-based manufacturing company seeks annexation into Leesburg

Leesburg commissioners heard the first readings of three ordinances Monday night that would clear the way for an Okahumpka-based company to be annexed into the city.

Vac-Tron Equipment LLC is requesting to be annexed into Leesburg as it prepares for an upcoming expansion.

Vac-Tron Equipment LLC, which designs and manufactures portable environmental clean-up equipment, has requested to have its six acres of land become a part of the city. The property is located south of County Road 470 and west of County Road 33. The company’s main building is located at 27137 S CR 33.

Vac-Tron is seeking to expand its manufacturing facility on the property. The proposal also includes a small-scale comprehensive plan amendment and rezoning the property from Lake County light industrial to city industrial. The city’s planning commission gave its blessing to the plan in August.

This map shows the location of Vac-Tron Equipment LLC, which is in Okahumpka and is requesting to be annexed into Leesburg.
