Leesburg commissioners heard the first readings of three ordinances Monday night that would clear the way for an Okahumpka-based company to be annexed into the city.
Vac-Tron Equipment LLC, which designs and manufactures portable environmental clean-up equipment, has requested to have its six acres of land become a part of the city. The property is located south of County Road 470 and west of County Road 33. The company’s main building is located at 27137 S CR 33.
Vac-Tron is seeking to expand its manufacturing facility on the property. The proposal also includes a small-scale comprehensive plan amendment and rezoning the property from Lake County light industrial to city industrial. The city’s planning commission gave its blessing to the plan in August.
