Shaketia Coleman

A Leesburg fast-food worker was charged Jan. 25 with stealing from her restaurant, just weeks before she was scheduled to come off probation for a 2016 forgery conviction.

Leesburg Police were called to the Burger King at 1201 N. 14th St. to arrest 34-year-old Shaketia Y. Coleman, of 1030 Crosby St., for theft. She was taken to the LPD’s booking facility, where a criminal history search revealed she has a prior conviction for petit theft and is on active felony probation for forgery/uttering with a start date of Feb. 16, 2016 and an end date of Feb. 15, 2019.

Coleman was taken to the Lake County Jail, where she remains on $500 bond. Her next date in Lake County Court is set for Feb. 13. Coleman’s probation officer was notified about the violation.
