Jack Hester of Eustis, Fl passed away on Friday January 3, 2024. at the age of 79. He was born on July 22, 1945 in Evansville, Indiana and grew up in Taylorville, Illinois where he graduated from Taylorville High School.
Jack worked as a professional musician/guitar player in his early years and later in life he was a long haul truck driver, and traveled the country.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Waller Hester and Ethel Hester.
Jack is survived by daughter, Niki Johnson (William -spouse), grandchildren – Mackenzie Higgs, Madison Zorn (Dustin) and Mitchell Norris; great grandchildren – Macie Zorn and Tristan Zorn.
Jack was not only an accomplished musician, but also a man of faith, beloved father and vibrant spirit whose final years were marked by a courageous fight with stage 4 cancer. He was able to successfully beat cancer after facing the long battle with the same strength and determination that characterized his life. Ultimately pneumonia caused his final decline as his body was unable to fight any longer.
Born with an innate love for music, he found his calling early in life and was known for being a talented performer who shared his genuine love for music with others. Over the years, he graced countless stages, leaving an indelible mark on those who heard him play. His passion for music was not only in his early career but a lifelong love that he handed down to his daughter and grandchildren.
In addition to his musical talents he was known for his dynamic personality with a witty sense of humor and a way of connecting with people. Whether it was sharing a story, a laugh or melody, he had a magnetic presence that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
In his final wishes he requested to not have a funeral. He preferred for people to remember him as he once was and carry those good memories instead of focusing on his death.
