Officers responded to Spin Laundry, located at 713 Perkins St., regarding a suspicious person complaint around 1:21 a.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. They were advised of an off-site employee reviewing the surveillance cameras who stated there was a man inside of the laundromat that the business wanted trespassed.

Upon arrival, contact was made with the man in question, later identified as 59-year-old Delaware Khan Hunter. He initially stated he was using the washer machine but was told the business wanted him trespassed. As officers were in the parking lot, he left the business and was positively identified using his driver’s license, the report said.

Dispatch checked Hunter’s information, and the officers were told he had been previously trespassed from the business on April 19, 2024. He was subsequently detained in handcuffs and placed under arrest. A search incident to arrest revealed a small baggie containing a white powder in his front right pocket, the report said.

Hunter stated this was “powder,” which he then clarified meant cocaine when asked. The substance later tested positive for cocaine and weighed 0.5 grams, the report said.

The North Carolina native was charged with trespass after warning and possession of cocaine. He was transported to Lake County Jail with bond set at $3,500.
