An officer was dispatched to a vehicle accident with a possible intoxicated driver at 213 S. Nursery Rd. around 3:29 p.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

Prior to arriving on scene, another officer conducted a crash investigation. He concluded his work, and the driver of the vehicle, 59-year-old Erica Lynn Parker, was clearly advised that the crash investigation was finished, and a criminal investigation was underway, the report said.

The other officer got to the scene and met with Parker who was identified by her Ohio driver’s license. He immediately noticed the odor of alcohol masked with perfume and her slurred speech. Due to her inebriated state, the officer asked her to participate in field sobriety exercises, which she agreed to do, the report said.

Parker’s poor performance led the officer to conclude she was impaired. She later provided two breath samples of 0.189/210L each, the report said.

The Arizona native was arrested and charged with DUI (accident/property damage or minor injury). She was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $2,000 bond.
