A deputy responded to a possible domestic battery at an undisclosed Clermont residence around 4:03 p.m. Thursday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon arrival, 50-year-old Garth Randall Logan was waiting in the garage and immediately stated he had pushed his wife, causing her to fall and hit her head. He further explained that he did not live at the address, as he and his wife were separated. He only stayed with her during the holidays because he had his own apartment, the report said.

Logan advised that a heated argument had ensued, and they both agreed that he should leave his wife’s home. He tried to en-enter through the garage, but she stopped him. In the process, he pushed her, causing her to lose her balance and fall. She then struck her head on the ground, the report said.

Contact was made with the victim who confirmed Logan was her husband, but they had been separated for the last year and lived in different homes. She stated he became upset when a vehicle was unavailable for him to drive. When she told him that his lack of car was not her issue, he became enraged, the report said.

A verbal altercation ensued, escalating into a shouting match. The victim told Logan to leave her home as she would not tolerate his behavior. He left through the garage, and as she followed to lock the door, he tried to come back inside, the report said.

The victim put her hands up to block Logan, but he used both hands to push her chest, causing her to fall to the floor and hit her head. The fall also ruptured a blood vessel in her eye, the report said.

The victim was later assessed by Lake County Fire where she denied further care. She declined filling out an affidavit and said she was not ready to give an answer on if she wanted to move forward with prosecution or not, the report said.

Logan was ultimately arrested on charge of simple battery (domestic). He was transported to Lake County Jail with bond set at $1,000.
