To the Editor:
Leesburg Mayor Pro-Tem Jay Connell is on deck to become Leesburg’s next mayor and those of us who supported his recent campaign, with its emphasis on responsible growth, couldn’t be more excited for the January 6, 2025 Organizational Meeting. We look forward to witnessing the fruits of Jay Connell’s labor being rewarded, when the City Commission selects him as the next Mayor of Leesburg.
As second-term Commissioner Mike Pederson, along with current Mayor Jimmy Burry, have both enjoyed successful and productive terms as mayor, it only makes sense for Jay Connell to have his chance, prior to the selection of either first-term Commissioner Alyson Berry or Alan Reisman. Jay Connell’s successful re-election campaign, where he defeated three formidable opponents, is the clearest indicator that Leesburg’s constituents view him as a trusted and respected leader.
If you support responsible growth, with an emphasis on infrastructure investment over sprawl, please plan to attend Leesburg’s Organizational Meeting on January 6, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. at 501 West Meadow Street, where we will be supporting Commissioner Jay Connell’s selection as the next Mayor of Leesburg.
