A Clermont man was arrested on a battery charge on the eve of a planned airline flight to Minnesota.
Sean McAllister, 55, fled from the scene of the attack which occurred Nov. 22, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. His girlfriend told deputies that McAllister pushed her down three steps of stairs onto her back. He held her down on a couch and his hands wrapped around her throat.
Deputies returned to the home the couple shares on Thousand Trails Boulevard on Nov. 24 and found McAllister outside the residence. He was taken into custody as a result of the Nov. 22 incident.
It was noted in the report that McAllister was planning to fly out at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 25 to Minnesota.
He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $5,000 bond.
He is scheduled for arraignment Dec. 11 in Lake County Court.
