A deputy spotted a tan 2005 BMW passenger vehicle leave Advanced Auto Parts, located at 745 N. 14th St., failing to come to a complete stop prior to getting back on the roadway around 9:38 p.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

A traffic stop was then conducted at North 14th Street and Center Street, after which the deputy approached the driver, 34-year-old Guillermo Campos Valadez. He advised that he did not have a Florida driver’s license nor was he ever issued one. Instead, he handed over his Mexican passport as a form of identification, the report said.

Campos Valadez explained he lived in the U.S., and it was his primary place of residency. He gave a Lady Lake address and stated it was for the residence in which he lived for over four months, the report said.

A check of Campos Valadez’ name confirmed he did not have a driver’s license or ID card within the U.S., the report said.

The native of Mexico was subsequently arrested on charge of no driver’s license (never had one). He was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $500 bond.
