Russ Phillips, 63, passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 27, 2024 with his family by his side. Born in Gilbertville, Iowa to John & Yvonne Phillips, he moved to Florida in 1981, where he built a life with his beloved wife, Lisa (Maroney). Together they welcomed their daughter, Siobhan, their son-in-law Kyle Brown, and granddaughter Makenna Rae.
Growing up in Iowa Russ developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for family. He deeply loved his big family and his role as PopPop to Makenna Rae and Uncle B to his nieces and nephews. Russ was also an avid NASCAR fan and attended the Daytona 500 several times. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, music, cooking, and everything Christmas.
Russ is preceded in death by his father, John, and his brothers, Greg and Pat. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lisa Phillips; daughter, Siobhan Brown (Kyle); granddaughter, Makenna Rae; mother, Yvonne Phillips; and siblings Cindy Cable, Dennis Phillips, Jackie Ritchie, and Lori Yoder (Greg).
His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him and the simple joys of his life.
Join us in honoring the life of Russ Phillips on November 16, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. The service will be held at Beyers Funeral Home, located at 1123 W Main St, Leesburg, Florida.
This gathering will be a time for family and friends to come together to share stories, memories, and laughter as we remember the wonderful man that Russ was. All who knew him are welcome to attend, as we celebrate his life and the love he brought to so many.
