A Leesburg man was arrested when he was caught trespassing in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven during the early morning hours.
Officers observed a man standing the parking lot of 7-Eleven, located at 737 S. 14th Street, around 1:06 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. Upon closer observation, the man was identified from extensive previous interactions as 42-year-old Leroy Alexander Rogers.
The officers approached Rogers and tried to make contact with him, but he quickly left the property and stood on a nearby sidewalk. He uttered, “I’m on the sidewalk,” which prompted the officers to detain him under suspicion of previously being trespassed from the location. They verified through dispatch that he had previously been trespassed on Aug. 9, 2023, the report said.
Rogers was subsequently arrested and charged with trespass after warning. He was transported to Lake County Jail with bond set at $1,000.
He has been arrested for trespassing numerous times before, including at Walmart in Sept. 2023, Wawa in Aug. 2023, and twice at McDonald’s in Aug. 2023 and Aug. 2024.
