A dirt bike rider was killed this morning after his bike struck trees in the Ocala National Forest.
The 59-year-old Sorrento man was riding a 2022 KTM dirt bike at 11:10 a.m. in a section of the Ocala National Forest in Lake County when he struck two trees, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. He was thrown from the dirt bike as a result of the crash.
He was transported by ambulance to AdventHealth Waterman Hospital in Tavares where he pronounced dead of injuries suffered in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
