A Groveland juvenile was arrested for battery after allegedly punching his stepfather in the face during an argument.
A deputy responded to an undisclosed Groveland residence regarding a physical altercation between a male juvenile and his stepfather around 7:52 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The juvenile, whose name is being withheld because he is a minor, advised that things were verbal at first and then turned physical.
The victim stated that when the juvenile walked into the home, he started bowing up at him and got aggressive. He was just sitting in a chair and did not say anything to the juvenile when he walked in, the report said.
The juvenile said that when he walked into the home, he immediately looked at the victim and started to ask him “what” several times. This led to the victim following him to his room to discipline him for his attitude. Once inside, the victim stood over the juvenile and asked him what his issue was, the report said.
The juvenile became more irate at the situation and proceeded to punch the victim in the left side of his face. He admitted to this after being read his rights, the report said.
The juvenile was subsequently arrested on charge of simple battery (domestic). He was arrested and processed within the LCSO before being released.
