It is with heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Josiah Kevin Rogers, age 6, of Leesburg, FL, on August 26, 2024. Born on February 28, 2018, in Peoria, IL, Josiah was a beloved son, brother, nephew, and uncle whose light touched everyone around him.
Josiah leaves behind his mother, Diana; his father, Kevin, and his brothers, Daniel, Joseph, Devin, Joshua; his sisters, Serinity, Miracle, Eve, and Trinity [Jemetrice]. He was also a cherished uncle to his niece, Melody. Josiah’s passing is deeply mourned by his many grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Josiah’s life, though brief, was filled with love, laughter, and joy. His infectious smile could light up any room, and his gentle, God-loving spirit left an indelible mark on all who met him. He had a special place in his heart for animals and found endless joy in playing, running, and exploring the world around him.
Two of Josiah’s favorite characters, Sonic the Hedgehog and Catboy from PJ Masks, brought him countless hours of happiness. These characters reflected his playful nature and adventurous spirit.
Though Josiah’s time with us was far too short, the world is undoubtedly a brighter place because he existed. He was loved with a love that words cannot fully capture, and he will forever be missed by all who were blessed to know him.
A service to celebrate Josiah’s life will be held at the Community United Methodist Church of Fruitland Park on Saturday morning, September 7, at 11:00 am. The service will also be live-streamed through the church.
