A homeless woman in Leesburg was sentenced to serve four days in jail for trespassing at a motel in Leesburg.
An officer conducted a security check of the Candlelight Motel, located at 1306 S. 14th Street, around 2:05 a.m. Aug. 24, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. He observed 52-year-old Theresa Walton sitting in the parking lot.Â
The officer approached Walton as she sat there with an open container of Platinum vodka. He was familiar with her, and a check of her name showed she was previously trespassed from the property on June 29, the report said.Â
Meanwhile, another officer on scene met with the property manager who advised that he wished to prosecute Walton for being on the property. He completed a sworn written stating initialing his intent to do so, the report said.Â
Walton was then arrested on charge of trespass after warning. She was held at Lake County Jail without bond, instead being sentenced to serve four days in jail for the offense.
