Norman J. Pagels, 85, of Fruitland Park, formerly of Eustis, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024. Born in Lancaster, New York, Norman proudly served his country in the US Army.
Norman met the love of his life, Avaline (Dusty), and they shared a beautiful marriage of 66 years. Together, they attended First Bible Baptist Church in Hilton, New York, before making Florida their home. For 20 years, they enjoyed the best of both worlds, snowbirding between New York and Florida, before settling in Eustis permanently in 2018.
Norman dedicated over 40 years of his life to working as a local truck driver, a profession he took great pride in. He is remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and his community.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dusty; his sons, Norman J. Pagels, Jr. (Maggie) of West Henrietta, New York, and Thomas Pagels (Barbara) of Lady Lake, Florida; his daughter, Sharon Pizzo (Sam) of Santa Clarita, California; his brother, Bill Pagels of Georgia; his sister, Patricia Getch of Eustis; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Norman’s legacy of love, service, and dedication will be cherished by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
