An Orange Beach man was arrested after giving a deputy a fake name when he was pulled over while driving without a license.
A deputy observed a silver Kia Soul with no license plate lights on State Road 40 around 3:34 a.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. As a result, he conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.Â
Upon the deputy approaching the driver, later identified as 46-year-old Forest Eugene Ouellette, he gave the deputy a false name and date of birth. Ouellette had a difficult time with spelling the fake name and date of birth. The deputy checked the name provided, which yielded negative results, the report said.Â
The deputy let Ouellette know that the name he gave did not come back to anyone. He insisted that it was his real name but changed the birth date he originally provided. Another check was conducted on the information given, which also yielded negative results, the report said.Â
Ouellette then consented to a search of his vehicle. While searching it, the deputy found Ouellette’s ID. The deputy confronted him about this, and he responded that he was scared he possibly had a suspended license, so he decided to lie. A check of hsi real name showed that he never had a driver’s license and was given multiple citations in the past for driving without one, the report said.Â
The Connecticut native was subsequently arrested on charges of no driver’s license never had one and giving false information. He also received a verbal warning for the improper illumination of his tag lights. He was transported to Lake County Jail with bond set at $1,500 bond.Â
