A deputy responded to a possible domestic battery at an undisclosed Clermont residence around 5 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon arrival, he met 26-year-old Meena Debidayal who had a bloody lip and reported a fight with 25-year-old Rajendro Pausaram, the father of her child with whom she had lived for two years. She was unsure of his whereabouts in the home, but a search revealed him hiding in the bathroom, the report said.

Debidayal advised the argument began when Pausaram accused her of cheating. She tried to grab his phone, and he tried to grab hers, leading him to call her a “thot.” She slapped him, and he pushed her off the bed. This caused her lip to bleed. However, she did not wish to prosecute, the report said.

Pausaram stated the argument escalated when Debidayal slapped him first. He retaliated by slapping her back before pushing her off the bed as she tried to lie down, the report said.

Debidayal was arrested on charge of simple battery (domestic). The Connecticut native was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $500 bond.

Pausaram was arrested on the same charge and transported to jail, as well. The Guyana native was released after posting $500 bond.
