An officer responded to the Leesburg Police Department, located at 115 E. Magnolia Street, regarding a battery around 3:15 p.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

Upon arrival, the officer met with the female victim who advised she was driving her ex-boyfriend, 36-year-old Deron Jamar Dixon of Wildwood, to his brother’s residence. He was extremely intoxicated and opened a beer inside her vehicle. She then became upset because he took money from her, the report said.

Dixon got mad, and the victim told him that he needed to get out of her vehicle. She stated that she would pick him back up when he “sobers up.” He then threw beer all over the victim and the dashboard in front of him before asking the victim if she wanted to fight him, the report said.

The victim responded by telling Dixon to get out of the vehicle, but he refused to do so. She proceeded to flag down a nearby vehicle and instructed them to call the police. At that point, Dixon got out of the vehicle and began walking away from her, the report said.

The victim confirmed the incident took place at the intersection of East Main Street and Church Street in Leesburg at about 3 p.m. She has a four-year-old son in common with Dixon. She also provided a sworn written statement without intent to prosecute, the report said.

The officer observed the victim to have a wet shirt that reeked of an alcoholic beverage. He also noticed fresh liquid stains on her dashboard and an empty can of Colt .45 beer. The victim’s vehicle reeked of an alcoholic beverage, the report said.

Dixon was ultimately arrested for simple battery (domestic) at 141 Grove Ridge Court around 6:46 p.m. Friday. The Texas native was transported to Lake County Jail with bond set at $2,000.
