It is with a broken heart that we announce the passing of David Gnatek, born on July 28, 1949 in Westfield, MA, to the late Walter and Celia (Jaworski) Gnatek. David succumbed to his long battle with cancer and gracefully entered into God’s kingdom on July 2, 2024 with his wife and sisters by his side.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Walter and Celia (Jaworski) Gnatek, brother Daniel Gnatek, brother-in-law Michael McClintock, mother-in-law Helen Krywinski and stepdaughter, Lori Viarengo.

David is survived by wife Karen Gnatek (Viarengo), sisters Paulette McClintock and Richard Furst of CT and Linda Corell and Jon Guzallis of CT. Stepchildren Stacey and Christopher Bartolotta of CT, Jay Viarengo of FL. Nephews Steve and Nicole Gnatek of CT, Greg and Samantha Gnatek of CT, Daniel McClintock of CA, August Corell of CT, Matt and Jessica Furst of CT, Greg and Lara Furst of MA.

David was a veteran serving 4 years in the US Army stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War.

David was a lifelong enthusiast of football and a dedicated Indianapolis Colts fan, cherishing the sport and his team throughout his life. Although the Colts and football was his favorite, David enjoyed watching all sports and could come up with any statistic you could want to know. His other passion was listening to classic rock music specifically Jethro Tull attending several of their concerts through the years. A born native to CT, David also lived in Pennsylvania, New Jersey his last move was with his wife Karen to Florida.

David was a kindhearted soul with the natural ability to put you at ease and befriended all those he met. Everyone would agree we will miss his witty sense of humor.
