Officers conducted a security check of the vacant property on 2206 Griffin Road around 8:05 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

While checking the woods, one of the officers spotted a homeless camp and met 49-year-old Sean Allen Smith. A name and date of birth query was run by the Communication Division of the LPD, and previous contact from another officer on scene made a positive identification of Smith, the report said.

The Communication Center advised that Smith was trespassed from the property on Nov. 8, 2023. He had also been issued a second trespass warning on April 1, 2024. He was subsequently detained and advised that he was under arrest, the report said.

The New York native was charged with trespass after warning and transported to Lake County Jail. He was released after posting $1,000 bond.
