A Leesburg woman was arrested at her home Saturday for her involvement with battering a man whom her friend shot earlier this year.
On Feb. 19, deputies with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to a verbal altercation at 41516 County Road 452 in Leesburg, according to an affidavit of probable cause out of Lake County. The complainant at the time, 43-year-old Kristin Rebecca Osley, stated that her friend was already at the residence and arguing with a man, later to be known as the victim, in the roadway in front of her house.
Osley advised that the victim’s girlfriend arrived at her residence about two hours prior stating that she and the victim had gotten into a verbal altercation. He asked her to leave, so she came over to Osley’s house to hangout until things calmed down. During this time, the victim and Osley’s friend agreed to meet in the roadway to have a physical fight, the affidavit said.
The victim and the friend did so, and at the conclusion of the fight, the friend pulled out a firearm and shot the victim, severely injuring him. Osley and the victim’s girlfriend heard the gunshots and went outside to see what happened, the affidavit said.
Upon Osley getting down to the roadway, she took the gun from her friend and hid it in the backyard. She then went back to the roadway and kicked the victim several times in the leg and groin area. While doing so, she said vulgar things to him, the affidavit said.
During an interview with LSCO detectives, Osley further admitted to kicking the victim in the crotch while law enforcement was on the way because “he said something smart.” She initially stated she kicked him in the head but denied it immediately after, the affidavit said.
“Not sorry, but I did not kick him in the head,” stated Osley in the affidavit. “I kicked him in the crotch.”
Several days later while detectives listened to jail phone calls between Osley and her friend, she told him that she admitted to kicking the victim in the head because she had nothing to hide. She again told her friend that she was not sorry for what she had done, the affidavit said.
The affidavit noted that detectives collected Osley’s shoes the night of the incident while on scene. It had blood on it which she stated was from when she kicked the victim. She voluntarily gave it to detectives to collect as evidence.
The New York native was ultimately arrested Saturday morning on charge of simple battery. She was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $1,000 bond.
