A father and his sons were arrested Monday night after a SWAT team raid in Leesburg.
Leesburg police officers and Lake County sheriff’s deputies had been searching for 19-year-old Zaevion Latrez Larry and 21-year-old Brandon E. Larry for the shooting of a Leesburg man on April 25 at a residence near the intersection of Baker Street and Faulkner Avenue in Leesburg.
The affidavit used by the police to obtain the arrest warrant alleges that the two men arrived at the residence where they met with the victim and his father. The victim’s father told the officers that three men got out of a Ford Mustang and confronted his son. He said that when the men got out of the Mustang they were armed with two pistols with extended magazines and a “Draco” AK style pistol. He told the police that the men started to argue with his son and that Brandon E. Larry shot his son in the right leg. The victim fell to the ground so his father laid on his son to prevent Larry from shooting him again. The men got into the Mustang and left the area.
When the police arrived at the scene several witnesses including the victim and his father identified both Larry men as being involved in the argument and shooting. The victim was airlifted to the Ocala Regional Medical Center Trauma Unit. Detectives from the Leesburg Police Department obtained arrest warrants for both suspects.

On Monday night, units of the Leesburg police including Squad 4, the SWAT unit and detectives conducted a raid on an undisclosed location where they arrested Zaevion Larry and Brandon E. Larry. Also arrested during the raid was Larry’s father, 41 year-old Brandon Edward Larry who was charged with possession of 13 grams of crack cocaine and over 1,000 grams of marijuana as well as possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. In addition, $5,300 in cash was seized during the raid. The elder Larry’s bond was set at $17,000 which he posted.

Zaevion Larry was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a delinquent with bond set at $100,000. Brandon E. Larry’s bond was set at $150,000 for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
All three men will be in court on Nov. 27.
