Barbara Ann Cook, also known as Barb, peacefully passed away on September 14, 2023, in Leesburg, Florida, at the age of 89. She was born on September 21, 1933, in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, to the late Charles N Trgovac and Barbara M (Srmeg) Trgovac. Barb was a loving spouse, mother, and grandmother, deeply cherished by her family and friends.

Barb was a compassionate individual who dedicated her time to helping others. She enjoyed volunteering and raising money for various charities, as well as organizing Blood Drives. Her commitment to community service extended to teaching Yoga classes in her local community, where she shared her passion for wellness and mindfulness. Additionally, Barb found joy in boating and traveling with her beloved husband.

In terms of education, Barb attended St. Joseph Catholic School in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, for her primary education and later graduated from New Brighton High School. She pursued further studies in medical courses at the University of Pittsburgh.

Professionally, Barb had a successful career as a Certified Medical Records Technician. She also served as an Instructor of Medical Records at Carnegie Institute in Troy, Michigan, where she imparted her knowledge and expertise to aspiring professionals.

Barb was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Okahumpka, Florida, where she found solace and strength in her faith. She actively participated in the church community and found comfort in her spiritual journey.

Outside of her career and community involvement, Barb had a variety of hobbies that brought her joy. She was an avid reader and also attended Clown School, where she honed her skills and entertained audiences at schools and nursing homes with her delightful performances.

Barb is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Charles E. Cook, her loving daughters Susan Culver (Mike) of Carrollton, Texas, and Linda Diehl (Robert) of Hurst, Texas, as well as her cherished grandsons, Ryan Diehl of Austin, Texas, and Tyler Diehl of Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father Charles N Trgovac, mother Barbara M (Srmeg) Trgovac, brother Paul J Trgovac, and sister Pauline Trgovac.

Barb’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and community.

A funeral service to honor and remember Barb’s life will be held at Berean Baptist Church, located at 5640 CR48 in Okahumpka, Florida, on September 20 at 2:00 PM. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Orlando Health Foundation (www.orlandohealthfoundation.com) or the Alzheimer’s Association North and Central Florida chapter, to support causes that were close to Barb’s heart.
