Donyela R. Lapham

Donyela R. Lapham, 89, of Mount Dora, FL, died on September 10, 2023 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born on September 17, 1933, in Kassel, Germany. She married the late Edwin Lapham on March 11, 1960. “Dony” and “Ed”, as they were affectionally called, lived most of their marriage in Saline, Michigan before relocating to Leesburg, Florida in 2010.

Donyela was a beautician with her own in-home salon for many years. She then pursued a healthcare degree and ultimately retired from private duty care. Donyela was a skilled crafter who provided wonderful decorations to Tri-Co. Sportsmen’s League at which she was a Life Member.

Donyela is survived by two children: Leon Lapham of Onida, South Dakota, and Yasmin Matheson (Jesse) of Morgantown, West Virginia. She is also survived by grandchildren Arianna, Evan, Taylor, and Lucas and several great-grandchildren. Donyela was preceded in death by her loving husband, as well as infant daughter Myriam, daughter Heidelind and sons Karsten and Dewayne.

At Donyela’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. In honor of her memory, please consider donating to The Alzheimer’s Association.
