A homeless man had drug needles in his possession when he was found sleeping in front of Planet Fitness in Eustis.
Richard Dale Martin, 39, was charged with trespass after warning and possession of drug paraphernalia after his arrest at the fitness center, located at 2830 S. Bay St.
Officers responded to a trespassing complaint at around 6:16 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, and found a man sleeping by the front door, according to an arrest report from the Eustis Police Department.
An officer identified the suspect as Martin, who was previously trespassed from the property in March 2021 for sleeping inside the back of a business shed. Due to him being warned about trespassing, he was placed under arrest, the report said.
Officers searched Martin and found two used needles inside his bag. One of them tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the report.
Martin, who was previously arrested in March for brandishing a knife while stealing sweet tea from the Walmart store in Leesburg, was transported to the Lake County Jail with bond set at $2,000.
