A Tavares woman sought for violating her probation was arrested after a deputy found drugs on her when he pulled her over on her bicycle in Leesburg.

Amy Marie Trayer, 37, was charged with possession of fentanyl and methamphetamine, along with violating her probation for possession of narcotics equipment. She was stopped by a Lake County sheriff’s deputy around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday when she failed to stop at a stop sign while turning south from Lockwood Street onto South Haines Creek Road, according to the sheriff’s office arrest report.

The deputy checked Trayer’s name and birth date and found the active Lake County warrant. The deputy asked Trayer to step off her bicycle and walk to the other side of his patrol car. As the two walked, the deputy saw Trayer reach into her bra and pull something out in an attempt to conceal it, the report said.

The deputy searched Trayer and found a $5 bill in her right hand. She was asked if she wanted to take the bill with her or keep it in her purse, to which Trayer said she wanted to keep it in her purse. The deputy took possession of the bill and could feel an unknown item folded up inside the bill. He unfolded the bill and found a small piece of folded foil containing a small clear plastic baggie with purple powder, according to the report.

The deputy asked Trayer what the substance would test for, and she said fentanyl. Due to recent exposure incidents, he decided to send the substance away for testing. A second piece of foil in the bill contained a small amount of a white cake-like substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, the report said.

The Michigan native was arrested and taken to the Lake County Jail with bond set at $4,000.
