Nora Juanita “Bonnie” Lynn, 91, of Mount Dora, Florida, died Thursday, May 25, 2023. She was born on April 11, 1932, the daughter of Elbert and Gertrude (Durham) Smith, and one of a close-knit family of 12 brothers and sisters.

Bonnie was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Bonnie had many loves in life, including her love for God, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brothers and sisters, her many nieces and nephews, cooking and baking, reading and studying the Bible, and watching the Hallmark Channel (but not Lifetime because of all the “smut”). Known for her spunky personality and her ability to talk on the telephone for hours on end.

Bonnie lived a long, fruitful life with many tales to tell, and she had a great impact on the many people she met on her way. Bonnie was a fun-loving, kind, generous woman, who always wanted to give to those she felt were in need. But her greatest enjoyment was knowing she was always the prettiest sister and the best of all the cooks (and they all could really cook)! She was part of a caring, fun-loving family, and especially enjoyed the times of adventure and mischief she had with her five sisters. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was predeceased by her husband, George Thomas Lynn, in 1976; brothers Ozell, David, Teddy Earl, and Paul; sisters Freida, Mayzell, and Wilma Rose (Boe); and is survived by: daughters Anita Williams (David) and Kathy Henderson (Mike); grandchildren Jonathan Henderson (Deanna), Jeremy Henderson (Teresa), Loren Rogers (Carissa), and Erin Rogers (Drew Nasrallah); great-grandchildren Brennen Henderson, Seth Henderson, Kailey Henderson, Emily Henderson, Noah Rogers, Blake Rogers, and Lana Rogers; sisters Mary Struble and Becky Dowdy; brothers Jimmy Smith and Billy Smith; and many, many nieces and nephews. A special niece, though, is Janet Brantley, who was her friend, caretaker, and partner in crime.

A private ceremony will be held at Allen J. Harden Funeral Home on Donnelly Street in Mount Dora, Florida, and the family will receive friends there at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, with the funeral service following at 12:00 P.M. Flowers and memorial gifts are welcome but not necessary.
