Michael Russell Reilly, 35, of Grand Island FL, passed away Saturday afternoon May 20th, 2023, succumbing to complications concerning a hard-fought five-year battle with kidney failure.
The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday June 3rd at New Life Baptist Church 10035 Poe St, in Leesburg FL. Pastor Greg Wilmore of New Life Baptist Church will be presiding over the services. A memorial lunch and a time for fellowship and reflection will be held after the services in the fellowship hall at New Life Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home.
Mike was born in Jacksonville Florida on December 4th 1987. Mike graduated from Tavares High School in 2005 and continued on to receive an associate’s degree in welding from Lake Tech in 2007.
Mike worked as a Welder for the bulk of his adult life. Mike loved the outdoors, most of all Mike loved being in the woods; Mike loved fishing, shooting guns, Mike also enjoyed off-roading. He was a Jeep enthusiast and he loved to ride trails, a passion he lovingly shared with his son Jacob.
Mike is preceded in death by his mother Linda Mathias of Howie-in-the-hills, FL, and Father Philip Reilly of Jacksonville, FL. Mike is survived by his son Jacob Russell Reilly age 13 of Grand Island, and step-father Ed Mathias of Howie-in-the-hills, FL.
