
A man caught with a stolen gun in Leesburg is facing up to 15 years in federal prison.
Eddie Lee Parks III, 24, Orlando, if facing a one-count indictment charging him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
According to the indictment, on April 10, Parks was in possession of a handgun when he allegedly battered a woman at a home in Leesburg. He had previously been convicted of three felonies, including two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (2019) and possession of a controlled substance (2019). As a convicted felon, Parks is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition under federal law.
If convicted, he is faces a maximum of 15 years in federal prison.
