Sarah Janice Mattox went to be with her Lord and husband on May 20, 2023.
Janice, as she was known by most, was born in Enterprise Alabama on December 23, 1935. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking and canning. She loved to fish and enjoyed the outdoors. Janice was known for her bread and butter pickles and her love of family. Janice loved to read and always had a book she was into. She worked at Carver Middle School in Leesburg Florida for years and she was known by many. She was always kind and helpful to anyone in need. Family was important and holidays were a special time for her to be with them. She had two sons Allen Mattox (Lori) and Mike Mattox (Barbara).
Grandchildren Shanna Wilson (Mark), Aubrey Cash (Chris) and Ashley Carranza (Morris), Kara Mattox, Casey Mattox and Jason Vanacker. She had 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Homer Edgar Mattox (Eddie) as well as her parents Terrell and Sarah Hayes, brothers Terrell and Harry Hayes.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Beyers Funeral Home in Leesburg, Florida on Saturday June 3rd starting at 11am.
