Maureen Sophia Torres (Bonnie), of Leesburg (formerly of The Villages), passed away at age 87 on April 3rd, 2023 at home after a brief illness. She suffered a debilitating CVA 12 years ago but remained active until this last unexpected illness.
Bonnie was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 24, 1935. She worked as a Legal Secretary most of her adult life. Bonnie married The Love of Her Life, Rudolph John Torres (Rudy) later in life. Both Bonnie and Rudy loved golfing together. She was also an avid Mah Jongg player.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her Beloved Husband Rudy and her Kitty, Patches. She is survived by her Precious Son, Michael, who tenderly cared for her in their home for the 12 years following her stroke. She is also survived by another Son, Kenneth (Greg) Nestler of OR. Her Darling Calico Kitty, Callie, misses her Mama dearly.
Catholic Graveside Service was held on Friday, May 5th at Bushnell National Military Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Leesburg Humane Society in her name.
