Gov. Ron DeSantis has appointed a Lake County assistant state attorney to be a Lake County judge.
Chad Monty of Sorrento received the appointment Monday afternoon. He has served as an assistant state’s attorney in Lake County since 2012. He was in private practice for a year after his graduation from the Stetson University School of Law in 2010 before becoming a prosecutor. The judgeship was added by the Legislature last year.
