A Tavares police officer responded shortly before 9 a.m. responded to AdventHealth Waterman, 1000 Waterman Way, where the security team said 51-year-old Richard Jon Walker had grabbed a nurse’s “right butt cheek” while she bent over to clean out a trash can. The female nurse asked him not to touch her due to it being inappropriate, according to the police report.
Per the hospital’s protocol, security arrived to speak to Walker, who became extremely irate and raised his voice to cuss everyone out. The staff advised there were no witnesses or security footage of the, the report said.
The officer asked Walker about this incident, but his answers did not correspond with the allegations at hand, the report said. He only said his past consisted of violence. A criminal history check confirmed a prior conviction in reference to battery.
The head nurse advised that once Walker’s CT scans came back with no important medical issues, he would be released. The head nurse called dispatch back in reference to Walker’s release so he could be placed under arrest, the report said.
The Illinois native was arrested and charged with simple battery with prior convictions. He was transported to the Lake County Jail and released after posting $2,000 bond.
