Leesburg commissioners have several issues on the agenda which will have an impact on the growth of the city. The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall.

The Lee Village proposal is up for consideration. This property is the site of the historic Lee School which will be demolished and the property used for 63 townhouse units.

Crossings at 44 developement
The Crossings at 44 development would be located on State Road 44.

The controversial Crossings at 44 development is  before the commissioners for the second reading of the proposed project. This development calls for an annexation of a  34.7 acre property into the city so that it can be used for a mix of residential and commercial uses. Neighbors have expressed concerns regarding the impact of increased traffic on State Road 44. Also on the agenda is the creation of a Community Development District (CDD) for the Whispering Hills development which is east of U.S. Hwy. 27 and south of County Road 48. The CDD would be the entity which would finance the projected $58 million in development costs.
