Barbara Ann Haight, 84, of Leesburg FL, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on February 26, 2023. Barbara was born in Briar, MO on December 30, 1938 to her loving parents; William and Sylvia (Roberts) Gibson.
Barbara grew up in Oklahoma and eventually moved to California, but spent most of her life exploring the country with her husband, Cody, in their RV. Barbara and Cody made amazing memories together on their travels for over 22 years. Barbara enjoyed spending her time exercising her creative mind with crochet, bead work, cross stitching and journaling. She regularly documented her travels. Barbara was also known as a ‘food fanatic’, she loved to find the best restaurants and experience new dishes, in fact, cookbooks were her favorite reading material.
Barbara was a social butterfly, she could make friends with just about anyone and it was easy for her to strike up a conversation with any passerby. She was an intelligent, strong minded, and sweet woman. Barbara was especially intelligent, she was always looking to learn something new and soaked up knowledge like a sponge.
Barbara will be missed by many, she is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years; Ivan Cody Haight , as well as twin daughters; Cindy and her husband Dave and Deanna and her husband Mike. She is also survived by a sister, Evelyn, five grandchildren: Falon, Nikki, Jennifer, Amber, and Kevin, and 8 great-grandchildren.
