A Leesburg man was arrested on a warrant alleging that he used another man’s personal information to defraud him.
The arrest occurred on Tuesday afternoon after a detective had investigated the theft of a Leesburg man’s wallet and Harley-Davidson motorcycle key from his car.
The theft, which was reported on Dec.14, occurred at a residence located in the 1600 block of Timber Ridge Circle in Leesburg.
The wallet contained the man’s ID as well as a credit and debit card. The debit card was used at the Family Discount store on Griffin Road on Dec. 13 where $171.19 was charged. When the officers viewed the security footage from the store an officer recognized the man using the debit card, 20-year-old Stacy Harvard.
After processing at the Leesburg Police Department, Harvard was charged with 12 counts of theft, scheming to defraud, and criminal use of personal information. Harvard was transported to the Lake County Jail where bond he posted $16,000 bond.
