Murray M. Bier of Tavares, died Saturday, January 14, 2023 in the Villages, FL.
Born on July 31, 1926 in Hannibal, Missouri, the son of William H. and Nellie Bowen Bier. He married Katherine I. Schaeffer, September 8,1945 who preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Bier Keller, Tavares, FL; 2 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.
Mr. Bier was past Vice-President of Palmyra State Bank, past right-away solicitor for Northeast Electric Pawer Corp, past General Chairman of Marion County Fall Festival and Junior Fair, Was one-third owner of Marion County Implement in the 1960’s, A lifetime member of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War. Mr. Bier was a buyer and seller of real estate. He was a graduate of Hannibal High School. He served in the United States Army, in the 33rd Infantry Division, and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge during World War II.
