A Leesburg teen is facing an aggravated manslaughter charge in the death of a 15-year-old from Bushnell.
Trevon Donte Battle, 16, is also facing charges of improper disposal of human remains/biological material, possession of a firearm by a person under 18 years of age and failure to report a death to the Medical Examiner.
He and two others have been arrested in the death of Jontae Solomon Haywood whose body was found Dec. 16 near County Road 557 in Bushnell. He died of a gunshot wound. Investigators were able to determine the persons responsible for Haywood’s death were negligently handling a firearm when the gun discharged, killing him. The individuals then moved his body and hid it to prevent discovery.
Others charged in Haywood’s death are:
• Tervaris Eugene Jackson Jr. ,15, of Bushnell, who is charged with aggravated manslaughter, improper disposal of human remains / biological material, possession of a firearm by a person under 18 years of age, and failure to report a death to the Medical Examiner.
• Bradford Nethercot, 70, of Bushnell, who is charged with one count of child neglect resulting in great bodily harm, three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, one count of possession of marijuana less than 20 grams, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
