Our mother, Jerry Sue Huggins, passed away on Saturday, December 31st, 2022, at the age of 88. She was at her home in Tavares Florida with loved ones. Jerry was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who always put others first.
She is survived by a daughter, son, five granddaughters, five great-grandchildren, and sister; Pam and Dale Guler of Lecanto, FL and their daughters Courtney and Jessy; Don Henderson of Decatur, GA and his daughters Ellen, Teresa and Lauren, and Joyce Ayers of Mt. Park, GA and her much loved family.

Jerry was born and raised in Atlanta, GA, the daughter of Thomas Elbert Huggins and Ophelia (Lewis) Huggins. She was a strong and independent woman, who dedicated much of her life to providing for and raising her two children, often working two jobs, setting a shining example of the importance of work ethic and caring for others. Jerry had a 40+ year career at The Coca-Cola Company, rising to the level of international packaging director, traveling the world and making friendships that lasted a lifetime. She loved to spend time with her extended family, and many vacations were enjoyed with her sister and her family over the years.

Jerry delighted in her adult granddaughters and great-grandchildren, ranging in age from 3 months to 9 years old, and was their number one fan. She glowed when talking about each and every one, and loved hearing about their lives, admiring their artwork and videos of activities.

Private family time at a later date will celebrate Jerry’s life. In lieu of flowers, a memorial tribute gift donation may be made to Southeastern Guide Dogs, a program that Jerry was very fond of, at www.guidedogs.org
