Lorene Joy Wehrly, 80, of Tavares, FL., formerly of Lima, OH, passed away peacefully at home on November 27th, 2022. She was born on October 25th, 1942 in Toledo , OH to Carlyle and Mildred Price, who both preceded her in death. Lorene married her beloved husband, Robert D. (Bob) Wehrly on August 31st, 1991, who also preceded her in death.

Lorene retired as the laboratory manager at St. Rita’s hospital, Lima, OH, on March 14th, 1997 and became a full time resident of Florida in 2012. She grew up in a farming community and was the valedictorian of her class. She played the organ at church, was multi-talented, self-sufficient and a great problem solver. She loved fishing with Bob and they won several bass tournaments together. She thoroughly enjoyed pulling the one armed bandit at the casino, playing games on her Ipad, bowling and traveling. She loved following the exploits of all her grandchildren. She saw the best in people, was supportive, welcoming and such a kind soul, who loved her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Jeff (Cindy) Sharrits of Carson City, Nevada, Scott (Talia) Wehrly of Tavares, Florida, Greg (Deb) Sharrits of Concord Twp, OH and daughter, Beth Weaver of Tavares, Florida. Also surviving are grandchildren: Lori (Jason) Schwinnen, Dena (Dave) Earley, James (Brooke) Sharrits, Michael Sharrits, Caitlin Wehrly, Christopher Weaver, Bailey (Cody) McElroy, Jacob Weaver, Jim (Vy) Wehrly, Jensen (Matt) Sharrits, Taylor (Ryan) Sharrits and Zoe Wehrly. She had 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Tom Price, Ron Price, Duane Price, sister-in-law Nancy Price and brother-in-law Carl Wehrly. She is survived by sister-in-laws, Sue (Jim) McMullen, Janice (Fred) Kozlowski, Judy (Louie) States, Kathleen Price and brother-in-law, Marlowe Wehrly.

Florida services will be held Saturday, January 7th, 2023, starting with calling hours from 11:30-12:30 at Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, 226 East Burleigh Boulevard, Tavares, FL. Luncheon to immediately follow.

Ohio services will be held Saturday, April 29th, 2023, starting with calling hours from 10:00-11:00 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, 1170 Shawnee Rd., Lima, OH. Burial of cremated remains will follow at the Ottawa River Church Cemetery in Rimer, OH. Luncheon to immediately follow at the Gomer Dads Club in Gomer, OH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ottawa River Church or your charity of choice.
