A Leesburg man whose pants fell down was arrested at a popular night spot in The Villages.

A Lady Lake police officer was patrolling Main Street in the vicinity of Spanish Springs Town Square near Margarita Republic nightspot when he was flagged down by several people who had come out of the bar. He was approached by 44-year-old Stephen Reiss Hassol who asked for a ride home. The officer noted in his report that the Leesburg resident was extremely intoxicated. Hassol was slurring his words so badly that the officer had difficulty understanding what Hassol was saying.

Several patrons of the bar approached the officer and said that Hassol, who is 5 feet 4 inches tall, had been in the bar trying to start fights with people.

Hassol was having difficulty staying on his feet and became verbally aggressive toward the officer. While talking to the officer, Hassol’s pants fell below his waist, exposing his private parts, according to the arrest report.

The officer placed Hassol under arrest on a charge of disorderly intoxication. The New Jersey native was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $500 bond.
