Nellie Jo “Joey” Tutor Kimmel departed this world on October 19, 2022.
She was born on April 29, 1933 in Martin, Tennessee. She moved with her family to Michigan where she graduated from high school and went on to become a laboratory technician. Joey and her husband Vic along, with their children John “Jack” and Dawn, moved to Leesburg, Florida in 1974. She became an active member of the community joining and volunteering with numerous civic organizations and clubs. Joey truly believed in giving back to the city she loved.
Joey was preceded in death by her parents, Lerah and Carlos Tutor; her loving husband Victor Charles Kimmel; her sisters Corinne Garrett and Audette Canter, her nephews James “Jimmy” Garrett and Richard “Dick” Faunda, her niece Sheila Dawn Garrett, and her granddaughter Lindsey Misch. She is survived by her son Jack Kimmel (Tammy), her daughter Dawn Kimmel Roberts (John), her grandchildren, Courtney Jo Kimmel, Aaron Kimmel (Macy), Amber Ellis, Madison Kimmel Roberts, Logan Kimmel Roberts, her niece Diana Raley, as well as loving cousins and dear friends.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to favorite charities of choice in Joey’s name.
