Ralph Earl Schweitzer, 73, of Tavares, Florida, peacefully passed away on September 23, 2022, at 8:14 a.m. surrounded by loved ones.

Ralph was born on May 28, 1949, to the late Arthur F. and Dorothy M. (Buehler) Schweitzer in Reading, Pennsylvania.

He lived in the Greater Reading Area until 2018 when he and his wife, Cheryl (Slegowski), relocated to Florida to be close to his children and avoid the harsh Northern winters. Ralph enjoyed making people laugh and has left many with happy memories of his antics. He loved restoring old cars, fishing, dancing, boating, bowling, and flea marketing.

Ralph began his career working at Marshall Chevrolet. He continued his mechanical experiences at multiple establishments within the Reading area, last working at Vision in Leesport. Throughout his many years of working on cars, he received numerous Automotive Certificates and Recognitions.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Daniel Schweitzer; his brothers, William A. Schweitzer and Arthur E. Schweitzer; his sister, Sherry L. (Schweitzer) Koch; and his brother-in-law, Walter A. Slegowski.

Ralph leaves behind his wife and best friend of 35 years, Cheryl; his daughter, Michelle L., wife of Vincent S. Evanna, Ocoee, and son, Matthew R., husband of Lucia A. Schweitzer, Orlando; his three step-daughters, Michele M., wife of Rich Schaeffer, Mohrsville, Valarie A. Dundore, Shartlesville, and Traci A. Rhoads, Temple; his brothers, Ronald A., husband of Judy Schweitzer, West Reading, and Kenneth L., husband of Susan Schweitzer, West Reading; his sister, Nancy A. (Schweitzer) Gordon, Reading; and his brother-in-law, Brian J. Slegowski, Reading.

He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, Taylor, Justin, Christian, Cameryn, Lauren, Nathan, R-e, and Venus Gene.

Services will be at the convenience of the family. Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society, Tavares, is in charge of arrangements.
