On Monday, September 26, 2022, Kevin Monroe Kearley, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 73.

Born March 26, 1949 in Deland, Florida to Patricia and William Kearley, Kevin was raised in West Palm Beach, Florida where as a teenager he was an avid surfer. He graduated from Stetson University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics; and later attended the University of Florida.

He spent the entirety of his professional career working in sales for AT&T and later a post-retirement career at REI. While initially based in Jacksonville, Florida; he met Elizabeth Wyble, who worked in medical records at a local hospital. They then moved together to West Palm Beach, where they married in 1976. Their only child, Robert Kearley, was born in 1978.

In the early 1980s the Kearley family relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina; where they would live for the next four decades. As a devoted father, he was a daily part of Robert’s life, taking an active role as a baseball coach and assistant Scoutmaster. His favorite hobbies were backpacking, boating, skiing, and spending time outdoors. He and Elizabeth enjoyed traveling, and would venture to China, Galapagos Islands, Caribbean, throughout Europe, and multiple cruises. While living in Charlotte, Kevin and Elizabeth welcomed their only grandchild, Ava Kearley, in 2011. Years later Kevin and Elizabeth relocated to Tavares, Florida.

Kevin will be remembered for his infectious sense of humor, constant dad jokes, and his love for family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, one child, Robert, and one grandchild, Ava; as well as multiple cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association.
