A man will serve time in jail after an altercation earlier this year at Dunkin’ Donuts in Leesburg.

Jeffrey Wayne Coker, 34, of Weirsdale, was found guilty this past week in Lake County Court and was ordered to serve 15 days in the Lake County Jail with credit for one day served. Fines and costs were also assessed at $1,323.

Leesburg police were dispatched March 5 to Dunkin’ Donuts on North 14th Street after dispatchers received a call regarding a disturbance. The officers encountered Coker and a man who had been jumped by Coker. Witnesses said that Coker had claimed that the victim had been staring at Coker and his brother while all three were in the restaurant. As the man left he was followed outside where Coker jumped on the victim. A witness used her cell phone to make a video of the altercation, according to the arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.
