A Leesburg man is accused of battering and threatening an unfaithful lady friend with a gun during a squabble at the Lee Motel.

Christopher Adam Harrison, 38, of 1203 Crosby St., was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, battery (second or subsequent offense), and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

The victim told a Leesburg police officer she and Harrison were in a romantic relationship for less than two months. She said they got into a verbal dispute because Harrison found out she was being unfaithful. The victim said she booked a room at the Lee Motel, 201 S. 14th St., on Monday night, according to the police report.

The victim said Harrison came to the motel around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday and they got into an argument. She said he took her cell phone to confirm his allegation that she was cheating was accurate. The victim said Harrison then pulled a black and brown gun about halfway out of his right jeans pocket and said he was going to kill her. She said her daughter was in the room with her and she feared for both of their lives, the report said.

The victim said Harrison started battering her by hitting and scratching her multiple times. She said by the time Harrison left the motel, her phone battery was dead, so she and her daughter went to sleep for the night. The victim said Harrison returned around 7 a.m. and they argued again, and this time she told him she no longer wanted to be in a romantic relationship with him. She said Harrison became physical with her again, scratching her behind her neck, before leaving the room, according to the report.

The victim had visible abrasions behind her neck and on her left hand. The neck injury appeared fresh as the blood was bright red, consistent with the battery occurring an hour earlier. The manager at the motel said their video surveillance system was going through a software update and footage from the parking lot was not available. However, he did confirm the room was rented to the victim, the report said.

Lake County Jail records show Harrison was arrested in March 2021 and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, grand theft of a firearm, possession of cocaine, possession of MDMA, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Prior to that, he was arrested in December 2017 on a domestic battery charge.

Harrison was released from jail on $14,000 bond and will appear in Lake County Court on Aug. 29.
